About collaborative practice process training

We offer Collaborative Practice process training led by Ruth Chowdhury to equip professionals with the skills needed for effective dispute resolution using the collaborative practice process approach. Our training covers everything you need to know about marketing the process to attract appropriate clients, identifying matters suitable for a collaborative practice process, running a collaborative practice matter from start to finish, and includes equipping you with the knowledge and skills to understand interest-based negotiations, conflict theory, and relationship preservation.

The training is delivered in person Australia wide over 2 days with the option of an additional day by way of a masterclass. Contact us for training dates.

Supporting emotional & neurodiverse clients (without burning out your team)

Build confidence. Stay calm. Support others with empathy.

No matter the industry, every team encounters moments when emotions run high, from stressed clients at the counter or reception, to overwhelmed colleagues behind the scenes. We all engage with clients and colleagues from time to time who are navigating strong emotions, stress, or who identify as neurodiverse. This practical and engaging workshop helps your team build the skills to respond with empathy, patience and understanding while staying grounded and emotionally regulated themselves.

We focus on what’s within your control: not changing others, but learning to recognise emotional triggers, understand brain-based responses, and create safer, calmer conversations. We explore how emotion affects the brain, how to recognise early signs of distress (in others and ourselves), and how to respond in ways that support connection, not conflict. We also include simple, science-based strategies for staying grounded in the moment.

This session is fun, interactive, relevant, and tailored to suit your particular industry and your team’s needs, whether you’re working in law, health, education or any client service delivery role. It’s ideal for team-building days, professional development requirements, cultural change initiatives and everyday skill-building alike.

The training is delivered face to face and is 3 to 5 hours, depending on team size and chosen topics.

Conflict management 101

In legal practice, not every conflict situation is ready for negotiation or mediation. Clients often present emotionally charged with complex matters, and may be dealing with someone who won’t engage, can’t be found, or who isn’t ready to participate.

Conflict Management 101 is not mediation or conflict coaching, but rather a structured framework for conflict clarification, understanding and management, and forward planning with one client to assist them to both manage and avoid conflict moving forwards, adding clarity, strategy and value for your clients.

The training aligns with trauma informed and value-based practices and is ideal for lawyers, especially those working in family law, estate, workplace, or community matters, junior accredited mediators and FDRPs wanting to expand their conflict resolution skills, and any professional working in collaborative practice, conciliation, or interdisciplinary teams, regardless of dispute.

Training is 4 hours and can be delivered online or in person.
